Dental Implants
The implants are artificial roots on which crowns, bridges or complete dental prostheses are fixed. When the patient is made toothless, the prostheses can be fixed at the implants, whereas others are removable.
The implants are generally titanium screws that the surgeon installs in the bone of the jaws. Once installed, the implant is welded little by little with the bone, a process called osteo-integration.
The dentist responsible for the restoration will manufacture and install the prostheses (complete, bridges or crowns) on the implants. The installation of implants generally constitutes a minor surgery. The majority of the patients having undergone theses treatments describe the postoperative period like similar with that of the extraction of some teeth.
